Legendary Israeli guitarist / composer Shlomo MizrachiFind albums by this artist is one of the country´s most enigmatic figures. Although immensely talented as a player, he never achieved fame or recognition, working mostly in the shadows of the local scene and releasing very few albums. This album is the soundtrack to the Israeli film “Koko Is 19 Years Old", for which Mizrachi composed and performed the music. He is helped by some great players, among them the brilliant bassist Yossi FineFind albums by this artist. The film, which was not commercially successful at the time of its release, became a cult movie in time, and is considered one of the earliest locally produced "protest" films criticizing the social injustice suffered by Sephardic Jews in Israel during the early days of the state´s history. There are some parallels between the film´s plot and Mizrachi´s life. The music is excellent and features Mizrachi´s superb guitar playing, which is always a treat. Warmly recommended!
