The music was recorded during the final tour of the trio in February / March 2020, which was interrupted by the Covid pandemic. The album presents eight tracks, three of which are original compositions by Corea, four are Jazz standards and one is an arrangement of a Classical piece. The album offers a splendid sound quality. Corea died in February 2021, almost a year after this music was recorded, and this album is a proper tribute to his splendid career, covering the Jazz and Jazz-Classical Fusion facets. Symbolically, it includes a new version of his composition “Windows”, which he composed over five decades earlier and was one of his earliest famous works. Despite his advanced age at the time of the recording, his brilliant technique and feeling are completely untouched and his performances are brisk and brilliant as ever. The rhythm section is, as usual, in top form as well, and this album is an absolute classic Jazz piano trio performance in every respect. Although this album does not expand Corea’s superb recorded legacy, it is a wonderful document of his Masterly abilities and his status as one of the greatest Jazz piano players / composer ever. As someone, who had the opportunity to meet him and hear him play many times, Corea’s departure left a tremendous void in my memories. Overall, this is a beautiful, classic Jazz piano trio live recording, by a great Master. For the numerous Corea connoisseurs, it is an absolute must addition to their record collection.
