Musically the album offers a mix of Blues, Folk, Gospel and Celtic, but, as always, it is a mixture of cross-genre songs, all blessed by Morrison’s outstanding ability to weave beautiful melodies and write heartfelt lyrics, like only a few others Artists are able to do. There is also a slight jazz touch in the background, which characterizes everything Morrison recorded.
Overall, this is a piece of music that is worth being remembered, and although Morrison’s recorded legacy offers a few dozen releases, he never recorded a bad album and everything he ever put out is worth an honorable place in a decent record collection. Following her sensational debut, Schorr proves again that she is one of the top Blues-Rock vocalist on the contemporary scene. Blessed with an incredibly expressive and powerful vocal abilities, she has almost no competitors among her peers of both sexes. Her songwriting abilities don’t fall far behind and each and every of her originals on this album stands proudly as a valid representative of the genre, standing shoulder to shoulder with the recognized classics.
In many respects Schorr’s talent is parallel to that of the brightest stars of the Blues-Rock genre. Supported by excellent musicians she is an unstoppable hurricane of Blues-Rock energy on stage, as this album proves beyond any doubt, now for the second time.
Overall, this is an excellent sophomore effort from start to finish, being an absolute heaven on earth for Blues-Rock listeners, especially since the genre suffered from decades of absence of female vocalists of such class and talent. Not to be missed!
