  | JOHN GREAVES ~ ACCIDENT BLUEPRINT 234 ~ UK ~ Progressive Rock
Greaves first solo effort from 1981-1982, recorded in France with a group of musicians he`ll continue to work for years to come. The songs lyrics were written by Peter Blegvad of course, as their cooperation continues from the Henry Cow days. Considering the fact that this music was created in the 1980`s, it`s amazing how well it stands the test of time.

The absolute classic album by John, with a stellar line-up including US friends Michael Mantler and Carla Bley. This music has been legendary since it was first released and this new reissue includes also some great video material (CD-ROM). A true masterpiece of Prog with strong jazzy influence.

  | JOHN GREAVES ~ LITTLE BOTTLE OF LAUNDRY BLUEPRINT 232 ~ UK ~ Progressive Rock
Greaves is one of the key figures of the Avant-Garde/Progressive scene since his days as a member of Henry Cow. A brilliant songwriter and vocalist, each of his solo albums is a gem and piece of musical artistry. This album was recorded in 1990-1991 in France (where he lives now) and the palyers are mostly French musicians of the highest calibre.

  | JOHN GREAVES ~ ON THE STREET WHERE YOU LIVE BLUEPRINT 346 ~ UK ~ Progressive Rock
A new album from 2000, which is always a treat to people who appreciate good music. In complete opposition to the tradition, Greaves decided this time to `cover` some of the best known popular songs, all of which have become `standards` of the music industry. Of course his unique treatment of the subject matter is an art form in itself.

  | JOHN GREAVES ~ PARROT FASHIONS BLUEPRINT 233 ~ UK ~ Progressive Rock
Another brilliant album from 1984 by this unique and outstanding artist, recorded in France with a group of closly related musicians with whom Greaves works since many years. Some of the song`s lyrics were written by an old cohoot Peter Blegvad, with whom Greaves keeps a continious cooperation for many years as well.

  | JOHN GREAVES ~ THE CARETAKER BLUEPRINT 347 ~ UK ~ Progressive Rock
Absolutely brilliant new collection of songs from 2001, which is as masterly and intricate as all his previous material at its best. This album uses larger orchestration, with brass instruments. It`s amazing how Greaves manages to come up with new and fresh material time after time without slacking and repetition. A true master of the trade.

  | MAMAN / JOHN GREAVES ~ IN AND OUT OF LIFE RESURGENCE 148 ~ FRANCE ~ Progressive Rock
Veteran singer / writer John Greaves and the French Avant-Rock band Maman combine forces to create on of the most surprising and outstanding albums released recently (2005). Imagine a very dark KC with a dash of Anekdoten and mixed up with Henry Cow - this is as far this music can possibly be described. RIO fans should have a feast with this, but in fact every music loving person should be very stimulated by this. Definitely worth trying out!

  | NATIONAL HEALTH ~ OF QUEUES AND CURES ESOTERIC 2130 (Barcode: 5013929723023) ~ UK ~ Canterbury Scene Recorded: 1978 Released: 2009
2nd album by the exquisite band National HealthFind albums by this artist, which was the last of the great original bands and the centerpiece crown jewel of the Canterbury scene, as it combined all the elements that made this musical excursion so unique and important, crystallizing a decade of development and constant search for new forms of musical expression. Formed by keyboardist / composer Dave StewartFind albums by this artist, who previously led such cornerstone Canterbury ensembles like EggFind albums by this artist and Hatfield And The NorthFind albums by this artist, combining musicians of the last and another sublime ensemble GilgameshFind albums by this artist, which also recently fell apart. After bassist Neil MurrayFind albums by this artist left the band following the recording of the debut album, he was replaced by bassist John GreavesFind albums by this artist from Henry CowFind albums by this artist, another Canterbury icon. The album included several guest musicians, among them the superb trumpeter Phil MintonFind albums by this artist and overall it fallowed the same lines as the debut. Overall National Health was an ideal tool to deliver the intricate melodic content of Stewart´s compositions, spiced with lengthy jazzy improvisations, which could go on for several minutes and allow ample opportunity for the players to stretch out, probably more that in any earlier Canterbury ensemble. There is never a dull moment here, with ideas chasing ideas at all times and the listener is drawn into the music completely. This album is a timeless masterpiece and an essential cornerstone of any serious record collection!
