The set includes 3 CDs and a DVD. The CDs give a solid overview of the band’s output over the years (1971-1985), starting with a few pre-WR cuts (to show the direction Wayne ShorterFind albums by this artist and Joe ZawinulFind albums by this artist were taking) and even trying to predict the future by including a DJ remix of one of the tunes. To spice things a bit a few previously unreleased tracks are included. The true gem of the set is the 2 hours long DVD, filmed during WR Heavy WeatherFind albums with this title tour (with Jaco PastoriusFind albums by this artist and Peter ErskineFind albums by this artist), which is outstanding in every respect (sound and vision) and alone is worth the price of the entire Box Set. If you don’t own all the WR albums already (or any WR albums – shame on you) this is a wonderful opportunity to enter the magic word of WR and get hooked. If you do own the albums, you’ll still want the set for the bonus tracks and the DVD – in short it’s a winner any way you look at it!
