The album presents eleven tracks, two of which are original songs by Krog, two others are co-composed by her and John SurmanFind albums by this artist and the rest are standards. The sound quality is absolutely fabulous. Despite her age (eighty-two at the time of this recording) Krog is in splendid form and her sublime vocal idiosyncrasies are all still here in their full splendor. I have been a faithful follower / admirer of her since as long as I can remember and had the pleasure of meeting her and listening to her live many times, and she was always a fabulous person and a great Jazz vocalist. On this album she as superbly accompanied by two musicians, who played with her for many years, and the rapport is immediately apparent. Krog always sung in English, with a slight, but charming foreign accent, and over time always stayed at the very top of European Jazz vocal scene, creating innovative and adventurous projects with many musicians from Scandinavia, UK and USA. Her unique interpretations of classic Jazz standards, as well as her original material, were always superb in every respect. Her recorded legacy as a leader / co-leader spans a few dozens of albums, all of which are brilliant. Overall, this is another splendid album by the completely unique superb Jazz vocalist, which shows that age is just a state of mind. Vocal Jazz buffs should love this gem unconditionally, as I do, of course. Thank you Karin for all these years!
