  | ROBERT KADDOUCH / GARY PEACOCK ~ HIGH LINE ODRADEK 508 (Barcode: 859689005086) ~ FRANCE ~ Jazz Recorded: 2015 Released: 2016
This is the 2nd album by the duo comprising of French / Jewish (born in Morocco) pianist / composer / educator Robert KaddouchFind albums by this artist and legendary American bassist / composer Gary PeacockFind albums by this artist. The album presents seven tracks, three of which are original compositions by Kaddouch and four are co-composed by the duo. The album offers a superb sound quality and ambience.
The music is insanely beautiful, perfectly amalgamating modern jazz and very open but not entirely Free improvisation, keeping a coherent melodic base and continuity, but allowing both musicians to explore their own personal avenues.
These brilliant duo performances are one of the finest examples of the “Art of the Duo” Jazz phenomenon, which does not cease to amaze for the entire duration of this album, and although Peacock’s recording legacy displays a vast amount of examples of his virtuosity, this album is truly one of his finest hours. Kaddouch is an exceptional pianist by all standards, mostly known for his educational contributions, but definitely deserving to reach a way bigger audiences.
Overall, this is a wonderful piece of a Jazz recording, sadly quite obscure, which deserves to be discovered by every true Jazz lover, in particular those interested in intimate duets and the extraordinary Art of acoustic bass. This is beyond recommendation!
