  | AFTER CRYING ~ CREATURA PERIFERIC 201 (Barcode: 5998272708722) ~ HUNGARY ~ Progressive Rock Recorded: 2011 Released: 2011
This is the 11th album by the great Hungarian Prog group After CryingFind albums by this artist and their first studio release after almost a decade. A work of epic proportions, the album brings us 23 short pieces, divided into four long suites. The overall scope of the rich instrumentation and the majestic music is absolutely stunning and again the group easily arrives at the top of contemporary Prog, leaving almost every other Prog group far, far behind. The six members of the group, playing a plethora of instruments between them and including three great composers are a formidable force. They are supported by fifteen guest musicians, sounding at times like a symphonic orchestra, both stylistically and sonically. The music is absolutely brilliant, from start to end, heavily influenced by Classical romanticisms, but sounding fresh and contemporary. Peter PejtsikFind albums by this artist is back at the cello, heartbreakingly squeezing those sad motifs, as he did on the band´s early albums. The album also returns to Hungarian vocals, or rather recitation, which of course I always support. Hungarian might not be the most popular language on earth, but its original resonance suits this music perfectly. In short, this is a most welcome comeback and a great piece of music, which should give you a most pleasurable musical experience, if you´re into unusual and challenging stuff. If you hear differently (I´ve read some cold reviews), just know that some people have no clue whatsoever about music. Brilliance all over!

1st album by the Hungarian progressive group After CryingFind albums by this artist. All the characteristics are already here - extended compositions, long solos, orchestral passages and the unbelievable cello work by Peter PejtsikFind albums by this artist. A must to all Prog lovers. When this album reached the listeners beyond Hungary, it was one of the greatest eye openers on the Prog scene since many years, and rightly so.
