ESOTERIC 2104 (Barcode: 5013929720428) ~ UK ~ Progressive Rock

Recorded: 1973 Released: 2009

1st album by the British (Northern Ireland) Prog group FruuppFind albums by this artist founded by guitarist / songwriter / vocalist Vincent McCuskerFind albums by this artist with Stephen HustonFind albums by this artist on keyboards, oboe and vocals, Peter FarrellyFind albums by this artist on bass and Martin FoyeFind albums by this artist on drums. The band was a typical Prog outfit and often played alongside other Prog bands of the time, such as GenesisFind albums by this artist. Their music, mostly melodic and well structured, combined elements of Rock with Folk and Classical influences and was consistently excellent, as was their playing and singing. In retrospect they deserved more attention that they managed to achieve, as their recorded legacy – four great albums – ranks among the best of the genre. Definitely worth having and an integral part of any serious Prog collection.

The band was a typical Prog outfit and often played alongside other Prog bands of the time, such as GenesisFind albums by this artist. Their music, mostly melodic and well structured, combined elements of Rock with Folk and Classical influences and was consistently excellent, as was their playing and singing. This album is considered by many as their best work, alas ironically it was to be their last, as the band fall apart soon after in the turbulent period that victimized most Prog bands of the 1970s. In retrospect they deserved more attention that they managed to achieve, as their recorded legacy – four great albums – ranks among the best of the genre. Definitely worth having and an integral part of any serious Prog collection.
