MUFFINS ~ <185>
CUNEIFORM 55013 ~ USA ~ Progressive Rock

Recorded: 1981

2nd album by MuffinsFind albums by this artist, recorded just before they disbanded (to be re-united recently). Produced by Fred FrithFind albums by this artist this album is much more adventureous and complex than the debut album, with free improvisations and quirky compositions, close to the style of the groups belonging to the RIO sub-genre. Amazing stuff!

MUFFINS ~ BANDWIDTH
CUNEIFORM 161 (Barcode: 045775016122) ~ USA ~ Progressive Rock

Recorded: 2002 Released: 2002

The impatiently anticipated album by the re-formed MuffinsFind albums by this artist - one of the best US Prog groups of all times. Influenced by the jazzy Prog of the Canterbury scene, the band created a unique style of its own, which is boundary bursting and innovative, in short the best one can expect from a Prog act. It seems that the `new` Muffins have as much to say as the groundbreaking original group.

MUFFINS ~ DOUBLE NEGATIVE
CUNEIFORM 199 (Barcode: 045775019925) ~ USA ~ Progressive Rock

Recorded: 2004 Released: 2004

2nd album by the re-formed (in 1998) legendary US Prog band. As always, they deliver an album full of beautiful compositions and back it up with excellent performances, living up to their legendary status. They add a few guest musicians (brass and strings) to enhance and enrich the overall sound and the emphasis is mostly on the compositions, which vary in style and complexity. A superb musical experience!

MUFFINS ~ MANNA / MIRAGE
CUNEIFORM 55004 (Barcode: 045775500423) ~ USA ~ Progressive Rock

Recorded: 1975 Released: 1991

The MuffinsFind albums by this artist are considered as one of the best US bands playing in the Canterbury style. The group existed between 1974 and 1981 and this is their first and best album. The music is a mixture of classic Canterbury material similar to Soft MachineFind albums by this artist with more RIO influences like these of Henry CowFind albums by this artist and some Avant-Garde jazz like Eric DolphyFind albums by this artist. A true classic.

MUFFINS ~ OPEN CITY
CUNEIFORM 55010 ~ USA ~ Progressive Rock

Previously unreleased performances by this legendary band from 1977-1980, by the `classic` quartet version. Includes an outtake from the album `Manna/Mirage`, excellent live recordings and outtakes from the Fred Frith`s `Gravity` album, on which the band played.
