This is the debut album as a leader by Polish Jazz bassist / composer Lukasz MakowskiFind albums by this artist, recorded in a quartet setting with saxophonist Lukasz BanaszkiewiczFind albums by this artist, keyboardist Pawel KukulaFind albums by this artist and drummer Marcin JahrFind albums by this artist. Makowski plays both acoustic bass and bass guitar. The album presents eight original compositions, all by the leader.
The music is all within the modern mainstream confines, and with a slightly Funky sound, due to the dominating bass guitar sound and multiple bass solos. The compositions are based on highly melodic tunes, and the music flows pleasantly and without any surprises.
All four musicians are evidently highly skilled and experienced, and the performances are all professional, as expected. The album is definitely directed towards listeners, who like their Jazz smooth and easy, which of course is perfectly acceptable.
Overall, this is an easy-going smooth Jazz offering, with nice melodic themes, which should appeal to listeners, who like their Jazz as entertaining as possible.
