KAREL SVOBODA ~ PSZCZOLKA MAJA (SOUNDTRACK) GAD 044 (Barcode: 5901549197587) ~ CZECH REPUBLIC ~ Soundtracks Recorded: 1975 - 1979 Released: 2016 This is an archival album presenting the soundtrack of the cult children animated TV serial "Maya The Bee", which was broadcasted for years all over the world and is still very much in demand today. The series had several different soundtracks, but the soundtrack used in the European versions was composed by the brilliant Czech composer Karel SvobodaFind albums by this artist and is presented here in wonderfully remastered sound quality. The album comprises of twenty four short tracks, including three songs which feature vocals from the Polish version of the serial. The music was recorded over a period of several years by an orchestra conducted by the composer. This album is a brilliant example of the fact that music for children can be extremely intelligent and even quite sophisticated, and still be ideally suited for children (of all ages). Svoboda´s compositions are all brilliant miniatures, perfectly composed, arranged and performed, which must have influenced millions of children to get used to quality music at an early age. The fact that some of the soundtracks used today for children´s TV series and movies are completely infantile is a cultural crime. Attentive listening of the material included herein will disclose the rare talent for composing and arranging that Svoboda was blessed with, which is evident in each and every track on this album. The ability to tell a full musical story in a piece under two minutes long and the wonderful orchestrations are all a must study for all young musicians who intend to become music producers and writes of cinematic music. As usual, kudos is due to the GADFind albums on this label Records label for the open-mindedness and dedication to preserving the musical treasures, which truly deserve to be remembered.
