The album was recorded with a large group of musicians, but the core band accompanying him includes keyboardist Roger KingFind albums by this artist, bassist Jonas ReingoldFind albums by this artist, saxophonist Rob TownsendFind albums by this artist, vocalist Amanda LehmannFind albums by this artist and many others. The album presents eleven tracks, all composed by Hackett (several co-composed with King). Hackett has been incredibly active since the early 1970s, when he joined Genesis, and then continued his uninterrupted solo career, recording almost thirty solo albums and many other projects. I have seen / heard him live many times, including in recent years, and he is still a formidable performer and recording artist. His musical style did not change significantly over the years, which of course has its positive and negative implications, but he is definitely the most “genuine” Progressive Rock musician, carrying the original sound and musical direction since Prog appeared on the scene. This album offers everything a true Prog lover should love, i.e. great melodic themes, bombastic developments, epic climaxes, great guitar soli and the whole chamadan, so what is there not to like? If you ever were a Prog fan, you have to enjoy it! Does it smell funny? Of course it does, but that’s the whole idea. Overall, this is a classic Prog album, and despite the fact that it adds nothing new to the genre, it is full of great music and the obvious nostalgia we, the old-times, still hold dear in our hearts. People under sixty most probably won’t get it…
