The music is all modern acoustic Jazz, elegantly performed by the young talented musician and Burton, the Mentor. The compositions are all melody based and stay within the American Jazz mainstream convention, but Burton’s wonderful and elegant performances elevates the music to an Artistic level, anticipated from every recording featuring his talents.
Overall, although an experiment of sorts, to play with musicians at the early stages of their career, to result is a rewarding musical experience and a fond documents of Burton’s creativity in the last decade of his activity.
