4th album. Glass HammerFind albums by this artist further develops the concept album appproach, making this an antire two-part suite rathen then a collection of seperate songs. The keyboards work becomes more intensive then ever and the guitar is also given a stronger part then evet before. A very good Symphonic Prog album, with lots to offer and deserving repeated listening.

1st album. US Prog band Glass HammerFind albums by this artist was formed in 1992 by two musicians - Steve BabbFind albums by this artist and Fred SchendelFind albums by this artist. They shared a love for Symphonic Prog and Fantasy literature (Talkien and the likes), which were to dominate and shape the group`s path. All their albums, starting from the debut, were to be based on Fantasy / History literary works and bear an ambience of mystery and adventure. This debut album was basically recorded by the two founders, with some help from fellow musicians.

Glass Hammer established their reputation by years of hard work and a series of solid albums and they are a living proof that Prog is alive and kicking. 122 minutes. NTSC

US Prog group Glass Hammer seem to be able to improve with every new release, and considering this has been going on for quite a while, no wonder the group is universally considered as one of the top acts of the genre. This concept album is full of all those typical elements that a great Symphonic Prog album needs - mellotrons, moogs & organs, long epic tracks, expressive vocals and mystic atmosphere. Need anything more?

This time not a new work but a release of older material recorded live in 1995 at the Progfest Festival rehearsal (The actual live recording of the festival was unfortunately unusable). This material, together with some unreleased studio tracks from 1994 (so called lost album), was released in 1997 as a limited edition album and was sold out completely. This is a re-release of that album.

8th album. As difficult as it might sound, the US Prog band Glass HammerFind albums by this artist creates another masterpiece, both beautiful and challenging. They use all the classic elements of Symphonic Prog, with big sound, numerous instruments and delicate vocals. The 20 + minutes epic track closing the album is a true classic of the genre. Very difficult to ignore this one, as it surely will enter the pantheon on Prog.

10th album by this hard-working US Prog band. A creation of epic proportions spanning 2 disks worth of music and resembling the hay days of the genre 30 years earlier. Each disk presents a concept album setting with mostly long tracks (the longest being over 24 minutes) in the typical Symphonic Prog feel. GH and Symph fans love this stuff madly of course. The album includes some multimedia bonuses like video footage and computer stuff as well as a specially created new Roger Dean cover art!

6th album. It`s not difficult to guess that this album was directly inspired by the groups`s favorite author J. R. R. Tolkien, who of course inspired many Prog artists to create concept albums based on his wonderful books. This is a great collection of masterly written melodies and some superb vocals parts. GH by this stage truly perfected their art and were capable to sustaining a very high level of musical output.
