The music is beautifully melodic and often offers typical Italian melancholy, which goes hand in hand with Romano’s close ties with his Italian roots, as the title suggests. The wonderful arrangements offer a typical European Orchestral Jazz approach, which offers plenty of opportunity to the ensemble members to solo extensively. The performances by all the participants is beyond reproach.
Overall, this is a wonderful example of Orchestral Jazz, featuring the splendid compositions by Romano and sophisticated / elegant arrangements, which offers a pleasant and gratifying listening experience to Jazz lovers, who appreciate the lighter / more romantic side of the Jazz idiom.
