  | LUKASZ OJDANA ~ WEDRUJACY PTAK MUSIC CORNER 062 (Barcode: 5906489287428) ~ POLAND ~ Jazz-World Fusion Recorded: 2023 Released: 2024
This is the 2nd solo album by Polish Jazz pianist / composer Lukasz OjdanaFind albums by this artist, which continues the similar musical environment of his solo piano debut, this time expanded by vocals by his wife Mariia OjdanaFind albums by this artist (who was only featured on a single track of the debut) and the Ukrainian vocal quartet DrevoFind albums by this artist. The album presents ten tracks, recorded live in a Warsaw church, which offer his improvisations based on traditional Folkloristic elements of Polish and Ukrainian traditions, preserved only in vocal tradition.
Ojdana uses the moniker “Slavic Jazz Pianist”, which perfectly describes the concept of this album. The deeply melancholic Slavic elements are the very core of this music, and he simply submerges his imagination in these elements, delivering a beautiful amalgam of piano improvisation and vocal / almost choral performances.
Although Ojdana is mostly familiar to the Polish Jazz listeners as the pianist of the RGGFind albums by this artist trio, which offers highly sophisticated and improvised modern Jazz, his Slavic alter ago is no less impressive and definitely worthy of attention. The music on this album has a highly spiritual sensitivity and the delicate touches on the keyboard are ideal partners to the gentle vocal parts.
Overall, this is a highly original excursion into the depths of the Slavic roots, beautifully framed with the Jazz improvisations, all Masterly executed by Ojdana, who is blessed with a unique touch and sensibilities. Wholeheartedly recommended to Jazz-World Fusion lovers, who might discover here previously rarely explored territory, brilliantly performed!
