The Chamber Brothers started as a Folk / Gospel / Rhythm And Blues group in the mid 1960s, but this album brought them to the attention of a much wider audience. It is an excellent example of how many US folk based groups embraced the new psychedelic sound and incorporated it into the R&B roots. The gospel like vocal harmonies are still here, but the rocky instrumentation and the psychedelic sound create just the right spice to make it deliciously groovy! It was the "summer of love" and they were surely a part of what was happening. A classic!
