Playing together since 1983, they sure had enough time together to become inseparable as a music-making unit. They certainly don´t have to prove anything anymore, which allows them to select freely what they want to play together. The decision to play mostly standards is a courageous one, as playing standards is sometimes considered limited and unimaginative. But that does not apply to what this trio is doing, even if they are doing it for so long. The way they re-invent standards and expand them with their own additions is simply miraculous and unparalleled. And so every new album by this trio is simply another musical adventure, we can all enjoy. This live recording is a bit special, as it includes a solo piano track (the last track on the album), which so far was never part of the trio´s albums. This is beyond recommendations and praises, just get it and enjoy.
