KEITH JARRETT ~ THE MOURNING OF A STAR
WOUNDED BIRD 1596 ~ USA ~ Jazz

After leaving Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett led two parallel groups - one in the US with the great Charlie Haden, Paul Motian and Dewey Redman and the other in Europe with Scandinavian players Jan Garbarek, Palle Danielsson and Jon Christensen. The US group recorded a series if revolutionay and exciting albums starting in 1971, of which this is the first (as a trio). Jarrett was still developing and perfecting his most personal style and these recordings give a fascinating glimpse at that process.
