FREE ~ HIGHWAY (EXPANDED EDITION)
ISLAND 586226 (Barcode: 731458622628) ~ UK ~ Blues-Rock

Recorded: 1971 Released: 2002

4th album by FreeFind albums by this artist and the last studio effort by the original line-up of Paul KossoffFind albums by this artist, Simon KirkeFind albums by this artist, Andy FraserFind albums by this artist & Paul RodgersFind albums by this artist. Free were undoubtedly the best ever `white blues` band and Rodgers remains to this day as one of the best blues singers of all times. This album is much more relaxed then the early efforts, which were primarily blues oriented, and introduces the band members as excellent songwriters.

TRAPIST ~ HIGHWAY MY FRIEND
HATOLOGY 586 (Barcode: 752156058625) ~ AUSTRIA ~ Jazz

Recorded: 2000 Released: 2002

The trio TrapistFind albums by this artist led by Austrian percussionist / electronic artist / composer Martin BrandlmayrFind albums by this artist with guitarist Martin SiewertFind albums by this artist and bassist Joe WilliamsonFind albums by this artist is one of contemporary Improvised Music most respected outfits. This album, their debut recording, captures them live performing their music using their respective instruments in a most unusual way as well as electronics and computers. The result is an experimental and strange amalgam of noises and sounds, which represents the extreme Avant-Garde of not only Jazz but also Rock and other contemporary genres. Completely devoid of any structure or concept, this is more like a group thought process expressed in sounds. Listeners looking for melody and harmony will have to look elsewhere, but the adventurous and courageous ones might find here just what they´re looking for.
