MUZOZOIC ~ FUZOCK:
EPICTRONIC 8057506208753 (Barcode: 8057506208753) ~ POLAND ~ Jazz-Rock Fusion

Recorded: 2024 Released: 2024

This is an album Polish trio MuzozoicFind albums by this artist, which comprises of bassist / multi-instrumentalist Tomasz MaryniakFind albums by this artist, guitarist Konrad MaryniakFind albums by this artist and drummer Lukasz SwiderskiFind albums by this artist. The album presents nine tracks, all original compositions, four by Tomasz Maryniak, three by Swiderski and two by Konrad Maryniak.

The music, although obviously within the Jazz-Rock Fusion format, is surprisingly fresh and original, both as far as the compositions are concerned, especially the polyrhythmic tempi and odd meters, and the sound, which enhances the standard guitar trio with some brass and vocalese, courtesy of Tomasz, who plays (among other instruments) also trombone, and the vibraphone played by Swiderski. All these create a truly creative sonic aura, which is simply enchanting.

Another nice aspect of the music is the obvious sense of humor with somewhat Zappaesque feel, and combined with the originality of the music is pretty outstanding from the dull / repetitive Fusion music which is mostly stuck somewhere in the 1970s. I must say that this is definitely one of the most interesting Polish Fusion albums that landed on my desk since a few years.

Overall, this is a remarkably innovative, different and generally excellent piece of music, which every Fusion enthusiast the world over should be delighted to put his hands on. I had an absolute blast listening to this and I wholeheartedly recommend this album to everybody out there!
