A very serious analysis of the Prog scene and music, mostly in perspective of the sociological aspects of music as part of the social / political society. Many interesting insights and worthwhile thoughts, although sometimes very radical and "outrageous". If you´re into serious reading, this one is for you!

A fascinating book, although sometimes quite demanding reading (especially for people less aqauianted with the intricacies of the English language). The book deals with the music as well as the philosophical aspects of the Prog phenomenon. A must for every Prog fan!

In this book he concentrates on the music of the group Yes as a symbol of Prog (which is problematic to some extent as a concept) and develops an entire philosophical thesis as to its aspects. Fascinating reading, but quite difficult if you´re not used to such approach. Even the hardest Yes fans might start wondering what he´s talking about at some points. Still a heck of a book!

Supeb book about movies featuring appearances by Jazz musicians or soundtrack composed by Jazz composers. An incredible wealth of information and a great source of information about soundtracks.

An autobiography by British Jazz singer George Melly, very funny and informative with insight on the British scene.

A collection of essays about Jazz by some of the greatest literary minds of the 20th Century, which expands the common conceptions about the music into the sphere of literature and philisophy. Very intellectual and not easy to read.

A collection of essays on modern Jazz by the most prominent German critics / writers.

A detailed account of Czeslaw Niemen´s life, told in his own words during interviews with the author, which spanned over thirty years. The author only adds limited contextual links, with Niemen´s comments and stories unreveling his life and music.

A monumental book about the history of Soviet Jazz and the most serious book on the subject published in USSR. Incredible amount of information, unfortunately only to people who can read in Russian.

Great book about Jazz by writer / poet / Jazz critic Virgil Mihhaiu, revealing many facts about Jazz in his country and insight about modern Jazz in Eastern Europe.

A great autobiography by one of the greatest Jazz musicians of all times, very well written and quite shocking at times.

Great book about the many American Jazz musicians, who left for Europe to find a more receptive climate for their music. The book explains the social aspects of the American scene, racial discrimination and mnny other reasons behind the decision musicans make to leave their homes and move away.

Small but excellent book about the independent European Jazz labels (Chabada, ECM, Hat Hut, Nato & Steeplechase), which made an enormous contribution to the development of modern Jazz.

Mainly for hard-core Yes fans, basically a collection of interviews with Yes members, talking about the aspects of the group´s many years in business. Also quite interesting to a general Prog fan.
